Senior Center Activities

Check us out on Facebook!

There are a number of activities available at the Senior Enrichment Center (SEC) to enrich, increase socialization, and to add fun to the lives of older adults. To participate in these activities you just need to be a Moore County resident age 50+. Each month we publish a newsletter and a calendar that show the activities, programs, and socials that are scheduled at the SEC. The publications are available for free online or by email. They can be mailed to your home for a yearly fee of $5.00. If you would like to subscribe to our mailing list, or email, contact Emily Tostado at 215-0900.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow Quilt!

The "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" memory quilt picture below is a project that began at the Senior Center and expanded to local assisted living facilities, nursing homes and retirement communities to honor friends and family that suffer from or have succumbed to Alzheimer's Disease and dementia. Over 88 people volunteered their time to help complete this project and we are happy to say that the quilt won an Honorable Mention ribbon at the recent Sandhills Quilt Show. Next, the quilt is off to the North Carolina State Fair for display from October 16-26. Then it will begin a "tour" of the local long term care facilities and finally will return to the Senior Enrichment Center where it will be displayed permanently.
