Guidelines for Primary Elections:

North Carolina is a closed primary state; therefore:

• registered Democratic voters may ONLY vote a Democratic ballot
• registered Republican voters may ONLY vote a Republican ballot
• registered Libertarian voters may ONLY vote a Libertarian ballot
• registered Unafilliated voters have the option to  request either a Democratic, Republican or Libertarian ballot.  (if no party is requested a Nonpartisan ballot will be given)

North Carolina law permits 17 year old voters who will turn 18 on or before the November Election to participate in the primary; however:

• They are NOT eligible to participate in the constitutional amendment or the ABC referendum.

ABC referendum for Sheffield Township:

• Will be on the ballot for registered voters, 18 yrs & older, in the Westmoore and Robbins precincts within Sheffield Township.  (excluding Robbins town voters)
