Hazard Mitigation Plan

The Hazard Mitigation Plan is revised by staff every five years in order to receive Federal and State funding in the event of a disaster.  A draft copy of the 2010 Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan was sent to the state in May of 2010 for approval.  Once approved by the North Carolina Emergency Management (NCEM) division the draft copy will be sent to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for approval.  Lastly, once FEMA approves the draft document the Moore County Planning Board and the Moore County Board of Commissioners will formally adopt the 2010 Multi Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan.  Staff members from all the municipal jurisdictions within Moore County, general public, and Holland Consulting Planners worked together to help create the 2010 Multi Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan.  The draft version of the 2010 Multi Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan is available at www.moorecountymitigation.info.
