Engineering is a division of the Public Works Department within the County of Moore. The department is staffed with three people and is responsible for engineering design, engineering consultation, property surveying, drafting, cost estimates, construction quantities, GIS information, project inspection, and resolving public concerns while promoting safety.

Primarily, the Engineering Department provides information to residents, developers, and anyone else interested in connection to County water and/or sewer service. This provides the orderly expansion of the water and sewer systems. The result is orderly expansion of the systems, which can serve the largest areas of land and minimize maintenance expenses in the future. 

The Engineering Department provides developers and other County departments advice, plan review, and inspection for the development of roadways, parking lots, and driveways to insure their structural stability under required loads and their conformity to NCDOT manual, Standard Specifications for Roads and Structures.

Internally, Engineering provides our services to the other divisions of the Public Works Department and to all other departments of Moore County.
