Nursing & Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee 

The committee’s primary function is to maintain the rights of residents in long term care facilities including nursing homes and adult care homes. They are available to help resolve matters of concern that may arise during the resident's stay in a home. The committee members are also the link between the community and the facilities, seeking to increase community involvement and, at the same time, promoting community education and awareness of the needs of the residents in the facilities.

Committee members are local citizens who are appointed by the County Board of Commissioners as volunteer grassroots advocates for the residents. They receive training and technical assistance from the Region J Ombudsman.

The committee meets the first Tuesday of the third month in each quarter (March, June, September, and December) at 10:00 a.m. at the Senior Enrichment Center.
