Local Emergency Planning Committee
The risk of hazardous materials incidents occurring in the County requires that provisions be made for planning risk assessment, resource assessment and response training. The purpose of the Moore County Local Emergency Planning Committee is to plan for these risk functions and act as a specialized resource in the event that an actual situation occurred. State and Federal Hazardous Materials Emergency Planning Guide pertain. The Deputy Director – Fire Services, in the Office of Emergency Management (OEM), shall be the Chairman. General categories of membership are required by Title III of the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA).
This working/planning team shall be responsible for reporting its activities to the Moore County Emergency Management Advisory Committee at least quarterly.
